First mover report

In fiscal year 2022/23, we supported Waelzholz in preparing a GRI-oriented sustainability report. The following year, the technology leader for cold-rolled and heat-treated strip steel was one of the first companies in Germany to publish a sustainability report based on an ESRS-compliant (double) materiality analysis.

We used our expertise to accompany the company on its journey to becoming a first mover. The sustainability report for the 2024/2025 fiscal year builds on this and is the logical next step in sustainability reporting for the German family-owned company, which has been in existence for almost 200 years.

Comprehensive sustainability consulting

In addition to producing the first sustainability reports, we worked with Waelzholz to develop a holistic ESG strategy that systematically anchors environmental, social, and corporate ethical goals. At the same time, we initiated new ESG governance structures that enabled Waelzholz to institutionalize clear responsibilities for sustainability issues.

EcoVadis rating: From 43 to 59 points

Thanks to our targeted advice on ESG-related guidelines and measures, Waelzholz's EcoVadis rating has already improved significantly. We supported Waelzholz in identifying potential for structural improvement and revised internal guidelines and processes. This enabled us to further optimize existing governance and reporting structures within the company. The result: a significant jump in rating from 43 to 59 points.

Content-supporting design

In addition to content consulting, design also plays a central role in Waelzholz's sustainability report project. Working closely with the client, we translated the ESG content into an appealing and easy-to-understand layout, thereby emphasizing it through design.
